As a citizen, people have rights and responsibilities. Even as a teenager you still have rights and responsibilities. When you detect or have encountered a scam you have the responsibility to report a scam. You can report a scam on the following websites or organisations.

Reporting a scam can help the government put a stop to the scam and to prevent anyone from being trapped by the same scam. Not only is it morally right, but it prevents citizens like you falling into debt, finance issues, and pain. As an Australian citizen, we have the responsibility to make Australia a better place, you could do that by stopping scams and others from falling into one.

However, if you would like to make a formal complaint as you have been a victim of a scam you can go on the following website:

Australian citizens have the right of filing a complaint as we have the right to voice our problems and complaints. The following website provides a step by step guide to file a complaint if you have encountered a scam. You have the right of filing a complaint as a consumer if you have received faulty goods or have not received a product you have paid for.

Unfortunately, most scams do not originate from Australia. As a result, Queensland's law cannot compensate your losses and they cannot protect the victim.

However, the Government is working hard to raise awareness of common scams so that less people may have to experience scams. As an Australian citizen you have the right to have knowledge of scams and different type of scams. The government provides cyber safety programs for primary and secondary students to help educate students of the risks and dangers of surfing the net. This may include online scams. The government also creates helpful websites for ordinary citizens to go to when looking for more information and help, this website provides different helpful websites and organisations if you are wanting to know more about scams.

When someone has encountered a deadly scam system they have the right to voice their encounter on national television to make the community aware of this certain scam so they too will not get scammed. Television is an excellent way to make consumers aware of the dangers of scams.
